StudMarket is a marketplace for verified university students. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. If anything here is unclear, email privacy@studmarket.app.
Account details you give us: your name, your university email address (or phone number), and which university you attend. The content you create in the app: your listings, photos you upload, offers, and chat messages. And basic technical data — app version, device type, and error logs — needed to keep the service running. We do not ask for or store any government or student ID document.
To confirm you have a valid university email before granting access; to show you only listings, profiles, and chats from your own campus; to connect buyers and sellers in chat and keep those conversations in sync across devices; to calculate trust scores from completed handoffs; and to investigate reports of unsafe, fraudulent, or abusive behaviour.
We don’t sell your data or share it for advertising. We don’t process payments — money changes hands in person, outside the app. The companies that help us operate — our hosting and database provider (Supabase) and our email delivery provider — only process what they need to do that job, under their own security obligations.
Account, listing, and message data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile and listings are removed from other students’ view and deleted from our database, along with the listings you posted. We may retain a limited record of a report or a blocked conversation for a short period where needed for safety review.
You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account, at any time by emailing us from your account address. You can also block or report any other user from inside the app.
StudMarket is for enrolled university students and is not directed to anyone under 13. If we learn an account belongs to a child under 13, we will remove it.
If we make a material change to this policy we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
